The FSSB-R3 PRO is the Realsimulator’s professional solution in force sensor joysticks for desktop usage.
It is licensed for professional/commercial use and it is delivered with a Commercial License Agreement and an EC Declaration of Conformity.
The device has a new and improved version of both sensors and electronic, to guarantee a true 24/7 functionality and measures of high precision and stability. Its MTBF > 500.000 h, according to MIL-HDBK-217F for GB environmental conditions, ensures proper operation for many years.
Sensitivity can be adjusted as standard between 2 and 13 lb, with a recommended value for desktop use of 4 to 6 lb. If it is used in the cockpit, notify it so that the sensor can be changed for another one of greater hardness at no additional cost.
The FSSB-R3 PRO is supplied with an aluminum black anodized case and a red anodized fixation element for stick. The case is fixed to a heavy steel plate using 4 M4x15 screws and the fixation grip is done with a straight adapter populated with a 5 pin mini-DIN connector, compatible mechanical and electrically with all Realsimulator and compatible grips. Under customer demand, it is possible to supply it with a custom grip connector/fixation.
As all Realsimulator’s products, during the quality control process, which is done manually to each unit manufactured, the FSSB R3 PRO is calibrated and adjusted internally, but it includes an electronic calibration that allows the user to perform this operation as many times as necessary.
The new electronic board has two ways for power and comms, the standard mini-USB type B connection and a JST 5 pin socket for custom cable connection. When you connect the FSSB-R3 PRO to a computer it is recognized as a HID device, so they are not necessary drivers and is guaranteed its correct operation with all simulation programs.
RS_HID_DEV_TOOL program is valid to configure the included features and DCC program to upgrade the device. Some of these features included in the firmware are:
- Sound/Light. These two options let you independently enable or disable the beep sound and light signals.
- Visual Advices. We have included a visual advice system additionally to the sound advice system in order to give other aural feedback signal to the pilot for the full control.
- Two expansion Sockets. They allow connected directly auxiliary hardware that will be integrated and controlled by the device.
- NASA Features. Asymmetrical forces sensing for left and right as well as to push and pull, to let you to adjust really to the perfection the flight experience.
- Full Scale Control to select between four possible full scale settings of the axes X and Y, this adjusts the ratio between the force applied to the joystick and the signal sent to the computer. Although this looks like a sensitivity adjustment control, it is not exactly the same. This setting is ideal for adjusting joystick response in complex situations, such as a landing, refueling maneuver, ground attack. The setting values are FSC 4:4, 3:4, 2:4 and 1:4
- Neutral Position Adjustment (NPA). The adjustment of the neutral position manually allows exact adjustment of the neutral position of device using digital potentiometers, which are adjusted by the firmware when the user need, including in the middle of a flight mission.
- Warning Sound Level. Set the percentage for the warning sound level from 1 to 99% and calculated with the actual sensibility and full scale control in 4:4.
- BFA Level. Adjustable independently in Roll and Pitch, let you select in four steps from 0 to 10% the level of force applied to break the stable cero position.
